Recently, Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology released the "2020 Hunan Provincial Clinical Medicine Research Center and Clinical Medical Technology Demonstration Base List", in which declares the application of Xiangtan Central Hospital for "Hunan Provincial Clinic Medical Technology Demonstration Base for Stroke Emergency" was successfully approved.

The stroke center of our hospital was established in 2015. In the past 5 years of practice and exploration, the center has broken the barriers of disciplines and included the stroke treatment to the emergency system, realizing one-stop management of stroke treatment. It creates a pioneering first aid “Xiangtan Mode” for stroke with six features: standardized language, path-based management, thrombolysis in the CT room, thrombolysis in the ambulance, zero pause in the emergency room, and zero wait in the catheter lab, which shortens the DNT and DPT to 25 minutes and 50 minutes respectively. So far, 1,223 patients have been successfully treated with thrombolytic therapy. In 2020, 148 cases of emergency thrombectomy have been carried out. The above indicators are at the leading level in both province-wide and nationwide.

In November 2020, the stroke center was awarded the "Advanced Stroke Center" by the Stroke Prevention and Treatment Project of the National Health Commission, ranking 59th in comprehensive strength, 21st in intravenous thrombolysis and 12nd in EVT among nearly 500 advanced stroke centers nationwide.

After the Demonstration Base is approved for establishment, it will give full play to its advantages in the field of stroke first aid, and actively cultivate compound stroke first aid talent for medical institutions at all levels, improve their stroke treatment capabilities, and strive to control the average DNT time of Hunan within 30 minutes as soon as possible.
