On 15thOctober, 2020, Trauma Center of Hunan was officially inaugurated in Xiangtan Central Hospital, the Vice Chairman Institution of Hunan Trauma Alliance, and started operation. At the same time, Trauma Center of Xiangtan was established, which is affiliated to the Hospital.
The opening ceremony of the center began at 9 o'clock in the morning of the same day. Li Shizhong (Deputy Director of the Medical Administration and Medical Management Division of Health Commission of Hunan), Zeng Jianping (Vice Chairman of the CPPCC of Hunan and Dean of the Central Hospital), Dong Xiangrui (Deputy Secretary-General of Xiangtan Municipal Government), and Chen Jianan (Deputy Director of Xiangtan Municipal Health Commission) attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Nearly 300 people from 12 pilot institutions of trauma centers construction in Hunan, 24 inviting institutions, and secondary hospitals participated in the ceremony.
It is understood that with the development of modern society, the incidence of trauma and critical illness caused by road traffic accidents has increased. If the patients received timely and standardized treatment within 1 to 3 hours after injury, they probably have higher chance of survival.

As the first batch of pilot institutions for the construction of the trauma center in Hunan Province, Xiangtan Central Hospital, under the guidance of the Provincial Health Commission, and with the strong support and help from the Municipal Government and the Municipal Health Commission, adheres to the "Golden Hour" for the treatment of critically traumatic patients, investing more than 20 million yuan and creating a one-stop diagnosis and treatment service platform. In terms of rapid response to trauma first aid, two major treatment channels that link pre-hospital with in-hospital and in-hospital with specialty treatments were established to ensure seamless connection between "120" pre-hospital first aid and in-hospital rescue, thus greatly improving the emergency treatment capabilities of Xiangtan. This not only marks a big step forward in the medical technology, service and management level of the emergency trauma discipline of Xiangtan, but also laid a solid foundation for the formation of a new standardized treatment system for regional trauma treatment.

Li Shizhong expressed a high expectation for the future development of Xiangtan Central Hospital, given its "Xiangtan Speed" and "Xiangtan Model" of emergency first aid, and sincerely hoped the Hospital could exert the influence of the Hunan Trauma Center to provide people with more high-quality, efficient and convenient medical services.
